Equitable Stroke Control
Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) is a procedure whereby abnormally high individual hole scores are adjusted downward prior to the score being posted. ESC sets a maximum number that a golfer can post on any hole, depending on the golfer's Course Handicap (not his Handicap Index).  Individual hole scores are adjusted for handicap purposes per the following table:

9 or less                                Double bogey
10 through 19                         7
20 through 29                        8
30 through 39                        9
40 or more                            10

Cherry Island Honored

It is official, Cherry Island Golf Course is the 50th golf course in California to become a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary".  Much hard work has gone into the pursuit of this certification and much more work will be done in the future.  Volunteers will be needed to inspect, maintain, and add bird houses throughout the Cherry Island complex.  Please click HERE to see the announcement.

The play format for all of the tournaments is on a “Net Basis” and will be on 2-Person Better Ball.  The one exception is the Net Amateur, which will be on an Individual basis, Stroke Play

 

Golf Green Fees will be paid for by the Cherry Island Golf Club.  All Carts, Travel, Motel & Meal cost will be the player’s responsibility.

 

LOCAL = Qualifying will be done at one of the local courses in our area as selected by the NCGA
